Freelancer Talk x Amsterdam | June Edition

Wouter Vertogen is an entrepreneur, creative business coach, and former freelance dancer. Wouter received his education from ArtEZ, Institute of the Arts, graduating with a Bachelor of Dance degree in 2017. After working with Bern Ballett in Switzerland, Wouter started freelancing internationally in both the commercial and contemporary scene. He has worked with Celebrity Cruises, Zürich Opernhaus, and Balich Worldwide Productions to name a few. Wouter continues his work as a dancer by teaching various classes such as Commercial Femme and High Heels. In 2020, Wouter founded ‘Freelancer Talk’, a startup that focuses on making freelancing more accessible and manageable to creative professionals. Through ‘Freelancer Talk’, Wouter coaches creative professionals on creating sustainable businesses and teaches Entrepreneurship workshops in various Educational Institutions. Wouter is also the owner of a digital agency named @wv_digital through which he performs work as a web designer, social media consultant, and branding strategist. He is currently continuing his studies with a Bachelor of Science in Commercial Economics.

A little in love... I am a little in love with the arts and cultural sector. I love the unbridled enthusiasm with which the workers in our sector use their passion and skills to make the world a nicer and better place. Whether it is a cool piece of art or a cleverly conceived festival, it makes me happy every time. I also notice that this enthusiasm sometimes makes it difficult to include the business side. It sometimes requires new skills, different insights, making difficult choices, taking risks, and perhaps a different way of thinking. As a business development consultant, I see it as my role to balance your (creative) ambitions with your business ambitions. I like to use my knowledge and experience to think along with you about your issues and to create awareness and insight to strengthen that business side. I do this in practice by holding many orientation meetings, being involved in our Route Entrepreneurship projects, Mentoring, our knowledge guides, our program with de Baak and Van Harte & Lingsma, Het Fundament, webinars and every now and then I write an article.

Hi, I am Sophie! I am a personal photographer and I help female entrepreneurs & fashion brands grow with their photography and visibility. My love for images started at a young age... As a child I saw my father taking pictures and then I was already fascinated by those "technical boxes." Since then, photography has been my great passion and I have been shooting since I was 16. As a photographer I have worked for companies such as: Linda, RTL Nieuws, TESSV, Team Kappers, Brainwash, Boffi Heijmans BV, Groenlinks & Cachet Models. And my Personal Branding photoshoot has already sold more than 250 times! I live in Rotterdam with my friend Emiel. With whom I have been madly in love for two years! I like going to yoga (bikram and nidra) or walking on the beach. With friends, you can also find me somewhere at a party, at the snack table, with a glass of white wine.
